By opting to upgrade the Pathfinder to the eight cylinder engine, a typical driver will spend approximately 33% more on fuel throughout one year than someone who has the six cylinder engine. Depending on how much someone drives, this additional cost could be significant. The Pathfinder also can come with four wheel drive. If the Pathfinder driver switches to four wheel drive, their fuel efficiency will fall off about 5% for both city driving and highway driving.
